The Teacher

Enzo Dal Verme is an Italian portrait photographer drawing on over three decades of experience in meditation. He approaches photography as a path of self-discovery and personal growth.

His portraits have been published in Vanity Fair, l'Uomo Vogue, The Times, GQ, Madame Figarò, Elle, Glamour, Vogue Sport, Marie Claire and many other international magazines.

Commenting on his lessons, Enzo says, "Photography is a great way to inquire into reality and find out more about yourself while having your lenses pointed at another person. I teach the things that are truly important to me when I shoot a photo. For instance, ways to connect and interact even with difficult subjects. Things that, among the rest, have made it possible for me to photograph celebrities in a matter of minutes and create the portraits for which I am known."

At times he prepares lessons to fulfill specific needs, like the "Portraiture, the healing gesture" workshop, created in response to an invitation by the Cremona Oncology Hospital targeting their doctors, nurses and volunteers. The aim was to help them improve their ability to interact with patients by studying the interaction between photographer and subject.

Enzo sees photography as a sort of active meditation, a practice that can make you feel present, help you ease mental noise and stay focused.
